Enjoy the care and comfort you expect from a holiday, set in the unique environment of your own apartment in a Gambian fishing village.

guides with mumReal Gambia Holidays were set up by a British/Gambian couple, with two main aims. Firstly, to provide holidays which fill the gap between the mass tourism in hotels and the complete independence of self catering accommodation, and secondly, to provide a business which employs as many local people as possible, with money remaining in Gambia, helping to relieve poverty by providing training and employment.

The ApartmentsWe have built 3 apartments which sleep 2 people, and a house which sleeps 6 (all accommodation could sleep two more people in the lounge if desired). Each property is fitted to European standards, and has its own small private rear garden. We have allocated a local guide to each apartment, and a lady who will clean every day, and wash your clothes twice a week if required. Accommodation prices include transfers to and from airport. >> Find out more about The Holidays

Tanji signThe apartments are 1/4 mile from Tanji bird reserve and we co-ordinate birdwatching trips all over the country right down the river to Georgetown.

We are 10mins from Tanji bird reserve, half an hour from the mangroves, and the River Gambia. One of our guides is an Ornithologist, who will help tailor make trips to your requirements. We provide day/evening trips and arrange longer excursions up river to places such as Tendaba Camp and George Town. >> Find out more

fishing You can spend a day wreck-fishing in the creeks, the river mouth or trolling the reefs ...

We co-ordinate a wide range of fishing excursions, from reef fishing, creek fishing and beach fishing. We can also arrange fishing 'safari’s' which include overnight stays for those who want to go to the more remote locations.
